“This will open new vistas for PSUs and corporate houses to utilize their CSR funds for greening of highways and creation of ecological assets,” said Dr. AK Bhattacharya, MD- National Green Highways Mission (NGHM).

Government has a target of greening of one lakh kms of national highways. Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has also earmarked a departmental budget of Rs 5000 crore for the same.
