V-GREEN, the EV charging infrastructure arm backed by VinFast has entered into a strategic partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to set up electric vehicle charging stations across HPCL’s retail fuel outlets in India.
The collaboration aims to leverage HPCL’s vast nationwide fuel station network to accelerate the rollout of public EV charging infrastructure, at a time when India is pushing to expand clean mobility options. HPCL currently operates more than 24,400 retail outlets across the country and has already deployed over 5,300 EV charging stations under its HP e-Charge brand.
Under the agreement, V-GREEN will develop and operate EV charging facilities at select HPCL fuel stations in multiple markets. While the companies have not disclosed specific rollout timelines or capacity targets, the partnership is expected to support both urban and highway charging requirements, improving convenience for EV users and helping address one of the key barriers to electric vehicle adoption in India—charging availability.
