9th Annual LNG Summit 2023
Introduction
The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) market in India has been witnessing strong fluctuations on demand-supply dynamics lately because of the geo-political developments. India, which currently has natural gas accounting for barely seven per cent of its energy basket, is aiming to increase this to 15 per cent by 2030. Lack of robust infrastructure, coupled with a low demand from the electricity sector also adds to the slower penetration of natural gas. However, this would not deter the growing role of natural gas in the economy. Conducive policies by Government and a proactive industry will boost investment to create the desired infrastructure for achieving higher natural gas penetration in India. Indian companies are investing billions in dollars to strengthen the natural gas infrastructure. An expanding CGD network will not only provide the fillip to the growing gas transportation and distribution network, but also promote consumption of natural gas as a residential, automotive, commercial and industrial fuel. Parallel to growing popularity of zero carbon renewable sources of energy, natural gas still remains the primary source of energy for coming decades due to intermittent availability of renewable resources like wind and solar. The utility of natural gas is both as a fuel as well as a chemical feedstock. An emerging solution also lies in planning in such a way that gas infrastructure can be repurposed for renewables such as green hydrogen – which will make India’s energy systems truly emissions free in the longer term. As LNG accounts for nearly 50% of India’s natural gas demand, any discussion on natural gas in India would remain incomplete without understanding the global LNG market and R-LNG infrastructure required for importing LNG.
Diligentia Advisers in association with Feedback Infra as their knowledge partner invites you to become a pivotal part of the solution with a landmark event in the energy industry’s calendar, and the meeting place for the Gas, LNG and low-carbon solutions energy value chain. We are proud to announce our 9th Annual LNG Summit 2023 on 9th August at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi. The Summit will provide ample space for keynote speakers to showcase the value that they can bring to the industry. Conference attendees can look forward to hearing from industry stalwarts as speakers in sessions covering the latest commercial and technical developments as well as insights from the Ministry, CXOs and policymakers.
